Courtney has been practicing bond law at Jones Hall since 1995. She serves as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel in tax-exempt and taxable financings that include, among others:
=
General obligation bonds and related election proceedings
=
Lease revenue bonds
=
Certificates of participation
=
Tax and revenue anticipation notes

Courtney’s current practice focuses closely on school facility finance, representing public school districts and community college districts across the State. In recent years, Courtney has averaged over 45 financings with a combined par amount of $1 billion annually. In addition, Courtney has extensive experience conducting judicial validation proceedings. With children who have attended California public schools, she is particularly in tune and concerned with the issues facing public schools today.

Courtney enjoys photography, which she practices regularly on her four young children. When she and her husband, Juan Carlos, a high tech executive and Silicon Valley entrepreneur, are not cheering for their children at youth sporting events, they enjoy long hikes and skiing at their vacation home near Bear Valley ski resort, and visiting family in Washington State and Florida.
